Teenage Sanctuary
The ‘Teenage Sanctuary’ was designed purely with teenagers in mind; encouraging them outside to study, relax & socialise in a young & vibrant space.
Stepping into the garden takes you to a graffiti wall, here water falls gently down on to pebbles below; a funky wrought iron step allows you to see the water trickling under your feet.
Cedar steps rise in height to the contemporary tower, a retro swing seat invites you to stop…… & relax. A spiral staircase takes you up to the top deck where you can sit among the tree tops.
A vibrant planting scheme of: orange Echinacea; red Achillea & purple Agapanthus are woven in to lush grasses. Betula soften & screen the tower giving the garden a feeling of seclusion.

My Inspiration
The Teenage Sanctuary is intended to highlight the good in our teenagers. Celebrating and promoting our teenagers.
Another purpose of this garden is to raise awareness about the Sue Ryder home in Henley on Thames. St. Katherine’s House has links with a number of charities that use the house as a real sanctuary for teenagers. The XP Support Group, The Child Bereavement Trust, The Hambleden Youth Group and Oxford Social Services all use St. Katherine’s as a retreat.
